Clay Pigeon Shooting in the Heart of Northumberland

Your Day At Langley Sporting, Northumberland

Four Unique Drives

Good Grub

The topography of Langley lends itself to giving you a series of distinct styles of targets set against the stunning backdrop of the Tyne Valley. High up on the old Hexham to Allendale railway line we have no need for clay towers to emulate the line of game birds! You are very likely to see a plethora of local wildlife and you can enjoy far reaching views of Hadrians Wall, the Cheviots & beyond on a clear day!

You will be well looked after by our attentive hosts Charlie and Luke, and our sensational hill-side chef Lucy.  Meals and drinks include a morning coffee or tea and bacon sandwich, locally sourced savoury ‘Twelveses’ and other delights on the hill, alcoholic and non-alcoholic refreshments, all  rounded off with a Ploughman’s lunch at The Carts Bog, our fantastic local pub.

Your Day At Langley

We meet at our fantastic local pub, The Cart’s Bog, Langley on Tyne for morning coffee & bacon rolls. Here we discuss the days safety briefing & instructions, before setting off on a 5 minute drive onto the Langley Estate to commence shooting. Guns are split into pairs, one shooting and the other loading. Halfway through the drive a whistle is blown, whereupon the gun and loader alternate.

Four drives are interluded with good grub, flowing refreshments and first class hospitality before returning to The Cart's Bog, for a very late lunch!

Events

Whether you are a group of friends or family wanting to take a whole day, or just a few of you wanting to be part of a larger day, we can cater for you. Similarly, if you have a special event in mind such as a stag, birthday, corporate day, team building day, nothing is too much trouble - just get in touch!

Fantastic location, well organised and run. Shot this with a team of experienced guns who have been to a number of different sim days, didn’t hear a complaint from anyone. If you are a game or clay shooter or even a novice you wont be disappointed, a thoroughly enjoyable day!

What an amazing day we had. 4 drives as realistic as it gets. I fired 500 cartridges during the day. Langley puts special emphasis on the food with tapas style game nibbles throughout the day and a meal in the pub at the end of the day. A great way to spend a day out of the game season with friends.

Eco Clay

Eco Clays

Following the recent ban of coal tar pitch clays, we now work with CCI International to use its revolutionary Eco Clay target, which is not only kinder on the environment but performs as well as coal tar.  After 8 years of research, CCI have developed this modified natural wood resin that will future proof the sport of clay pigeon shooting.. The Eco Clays are made of natural materials and contain no outlawed chemicals and contaminants as certified by Bureau Veritas and Exeter University.

For the sporting shooter, despite the caramel colour of the clay, the shadow on the underside makes it appear black in flight. With proven outstanding performance, the Eco Clay has been exhaustively tested showing very few ‘no birds’, robustness in transit and breaks well, when shot, with either lead or steel.
